TikTok Hashtag Generator
Name an account that makes the videos you want to make. You get the hashtags they really use, weighted by how those videos did.
Hashtags help TikTok place the video, not push it
Getting found is one job and getting momentum is another. If a video is already earning attention, that is the only moment a paid push is worth anything.
Why most hashtag generators are useless
Type a word into the usual generator and it appends the same thirty tags it appends to everything: fyp, foryou, viral, trending, explorepage. Those tags sit on hundreds of millions of videos. Being one more of them places you nowhere, and TikTok has said for years that stuffing them does not summon the For You feed.
Those lists are also generated, not observed. Nobody checked whether a single successful video in your subject uses any of them. This page starts from the opposite end: pick an account that is already doing the thing you want to do, and read what they actually put in their captions.
Read the two numbers, they are the point
Every tag comes with how many of that account's videos carry it, and the median views of those videos. The combination is what tells you something:
- On many videos, high median views. The tag their subject lives under. Take it.
- On many videos, low median views. A habit of theirs, not a recommendation. Plenty of accounts keep pasting a tag that has never done anything.
- On few videos, high median views. The interesting one. Often a specific tag used on their best work and nowhere else.
Check two or three accounts in the same niche and the tags that appear in all of them are the ones that describe the subject rather than the creator.
How many to use
Three to five that describe the video honestly, and that is the whole of it. TikTok reads the caption, the words spoken in the video and what is on screen; hashtags are one signal among several and not the strongest one. A caption written for a person, with a few accurate tags, beats a wall of thirty reliably enough that it is not worth arguing about.
The one place a large set is defensible is when a video genuinely spans several subjects. Even then, accurate beats numerous.
⛔ Why this does not start from a keyword, honestly
The obvious design is a box where you type “sourdough bread” and get the tags of whatever is going around under that phrase. We built it and it does not work, and it is worth explaining why rather than quietly shipping something else.
TikTok's trending hashtag and trending sound endpoints answer with the single word deprecated. Their keyword video search still answers, but it answers with an empty list every time: a success code, a cursor that moves, and nothing in it. That data now lives inside their advertising products and is not available to read.
So a keyword box would have to invent its answer, which is exactly what the sites showing you a live trending chart are doing. An account is a real starting point with real data behind it, and for the question you are actually asking — what should I put on this video — it is a better one anyway.
The sounds come free
The same videos carry their sound, so the tool lists which ones that account reaches for and how those videos did. Same caveat, and it is printed in the results: those are one account's sounds, not TikTok's trending chart, because nobody outside their ad tools has that chart.

Questions
Where do these hashtags come from?
From the captions of a real account's recent videos. We read them, extract the hashtags, and count how many videos carry each one and how those videos performed. Nothing comes from a fixed list.
Why do I have to enter an account instead of a topic?
Because the topic version cannot be built honestly. TikTok's keyword video search returns an empty list to everyone outside their ad products, and their trending endpoints answer deprecated. A keyword box would have to make its answer up.
How many hashtags should I use on TikTok?
Three to five accurate ones. TikTok reads your caption, your speech and your on-screen text as well, so hashtags are one signal among several. A wall of thirty does not help and can make a caption look like spam.
Do fyp and foryou hashtags work?
No. They sit on hundreds of millions of videos and say nothing about yours. If they show up in your results it is because that account still uses them, not because they earned their place, and the median views next to them usually give the game away.
Can you show me today's trending hashtags?
No, and nobody else can honestly either. TikTok stopped publishing that list outside their advertising products. Sites showing you a live trending chart are either paying for a feed they will not name or writing plausible lists.
Which account should I look at?
Someone mid-size doing your subject well. Very large accounts often stop using hashtags entirely, because TikTok already knows what they are about, and the tool will tell you when that is what it found.
Does hashtag research still matter at all?
For placement, yes. Tags help TikTok work out what a video is about and who might want it, which matters most on a new account with no history. They do not push a video to more people by themselves.
