Before you spend money on this
If your reach is genuinely down, buying views will not lift it: paid views arrive from outside the recommendation system and it knows the difference. What a push is actually for is a video that is already working and deserves a bigger first hour. If that is not your situation, the honest answer is to keep these pages closed.
Start with what nobody can do
No website can see whether TikTok has limited an account. The flags live inside TikTok's systems and are not published in any form, to anyone. Every site that loads a spinner and then tells you that your account is clean, or that it detected a shadowban, made that up. There is no third option and it is worth saying before anything else on this page.
What can be measured is whether your videos are getting fewer views than your videos normally get. That is your data, it is public, and it is the number that actually made you worried in the first place.
How the comparison is built
Your last few videos, taken as a median, against the twenty before them, also as a median. Medians rather than averages on purpose: one video that went unusually far would otherwise lift the baseline and make every ordinary week afterwards look like a punishment.
⭐ Videos posted in the last 48 hours are left out of the comparison. A fresh video has few views because it is fresh, and counting it manufactures a collapse that is not there. This single mistake is behind a large share of the shadowban panic on the internet, including most of the screenshots people post as proof.
What a TikTok restriction actually is
TikTok does not use the word shadowban and does not have one switch. What exists is a video being made ineligible for the For You feed, which is a per-video decision usually attached to the community guidelines, a music licence issue, or unoriginal content. It can also apply more broadly after repeated strikes.
The official signal exists and it is in the app, not on any website: Profile, then Settings and privacy, then Account, then Account status. It lists restrictions on your account and on individual videos. If that page says nothing is wrong, nothing is wrong, whatever a checker site claims.
Reach falls for ordinary reasons far more often
- You changed subject. The audience the algorithm built for you was there for the old one, and it takes several posts to rebuild.
- The hook got weaker. Most of the outcome is decided in the first two seconds and it is the easiest thing to get lazy about.
- You posted more. Doubling your output usually halves the views per video before it raises the total.
- A trend saturated. The sound that carried a video in week one is competing with fifty thousand videos by week three.
- It was a good run, not a normal one. If your baseline includes a video that took off, you are comparing today with your best month rather than your usual one.
If the number really is low
Check Account status first, because it is the only authoritative answer. Then delete nothing: removing a video does not lift a restriction and loses whatever reach it still had. Post something plainly original and clearly inside the guidelines, and read this page again in a week. A genuine restriction on a video expires, and a genuine drop in form shows up as a slow climb back rather than a switch flipping.

Can you actually detect a shadowban?
No, and neither can anyone else. TikTok does not publish that state. This compares your recent views with your own baseline, which is a real measurement, and then tells you what it cannot mean.
How do I check officially?
In the TikTok app: Profile, Settings and privacy, Account, Account status. It lists restrictions on your account and on individual videos. That is the only authoritative source there is.
Why are my newest videos excluded?
Because a video posted a few hours ago has few views by definition. Including it would invent a drop, which is exactly the error that makes people think they have been banned.
How many videos do I need for this to work?
At least eight that are older than 48 hours. Below that the comparison is measuring luck, so the tool says so instead of producing a number.
My reach dropped 60%. Am I banned?
Probably not. A drop that size happens from a change of subject, a weaker hook, a saturated trend, or simply posting more often. Check Account status, then look at what changed in your last few videos.
Does deleting a video help?
No. Deleting does not lift a restriction and it throws away whatever reach the video still had. It is one of the most repeated pieces of bad advice on this subject.
